Other Common Maintenance Issues Without Error Code

Noise while moving up and down

Check the 4 screws holding the Z-axis motor and make sure they are tight (these are the 4 screws behind the vat);

Apply engine oil on Z-axis rod.

Z moved over the top of the lead screw and will not come back down

Power off and remove power cord then use fingers to manually twist the z-axis rod until you see the rod coming out of the top of the axis. Power on your machine and press the Home button.

You may hear a skipping sound while moving down in this situation, which is normal.  It is a protection mechanism.  No recalibration is needed.

Can't power on printer

Remove back panel and check the power switch connectors. If loose, reseat them.

If above won't work, remove bottom panel and inspect further along the power cable to the green phoenix connector on the mainboard.  Gently pull the two power wires to make sure they are secure in the green connector.  Reseat the green connector if loose.

If the power wires going to mainboard are loose, pull off the green connector and secure the wires (unscrewing the two screws on the green connector, insert wire further and tighten the two screws on the green connector).

Touchscreen works but no light on LCD

1. Open the back panel of the printer,

2. Run the light calibration test using the touchscreen menu

3. Check the bottom of the light cup to see if the light is coming on

4. If light is not seen around bottom of light cup, open bottom panel and check the wires from mainboard to light drive.  This is the second green connector on mainboard. Gently pull the wires to make sure they are secure. If loose tighten as mentioned above.

Resin leaks onto LCD screen Clean up with IPA. If the resin has hardened you can carefully soak it with IPA for 30 minutes to soften it and then scrape it off. Do not let IPA leak around the edges of the screen.
LCD has black spot/area while it should show the layer of print

Replace LCD.

Film is damaged Replace film.

Common Printing Issues

Layers shifting to front/back Secure the build plate
Print does not stick to the build plate

Many possibilities:

1. Filter the resin in the vat to make sure no residues. Residues from previous failed prints can poke holes in the film and even damage LCD screen in addition to causing more prints to fail.

2. Your bottom exposure time is too low for your resin or printing environment.

3. (This is rare!) Your build plate is not leveled.  Before re-leveling, test the level with a piece of paper as shown on the Video Instructions page.
